Species Database
The information contained here has been collected through different studies in the area, such as the Bird Monitoring Program and the Terrestrial Fauna Monitoring Project. General information has been also collected through rapid ecological assessments.
To protect the species in the area, we must first determine ‘what’ species are using the territory and ‘how’. In the Las Nubes Biological Reserve, 161 species of birds have been identified through the Bird Monitoring Program. Of these, 15 species are migratory and 17 are endemic to Costa Rica.
